Collection: Nuapatna Ikat Sarees

Nuapatna is Odisha's most celebrated ikat silk weaving cluster — home to 15,000 weavers across six villages in Cuttack district, with a tradition dating back to the 12th century. The weavers of Nuapatna produce the sacred Khandua ikat silk saree — traditionally offered to Lord Jagannath at Puri — alongside a rich family of related weaves: Nabakothi with its nine sacred squares representing the Navagraha; Taraballi with its distinctive star patterns; and Sachipar with its fine ikat check borders. All woven using the resist-dye single ikat technique on mulberry silk, cotton and tussar. Every Nuapatna saree at Bidyut Fashion House is sourced directly from Nuapatna weavers.
